Lone Writer’s Log Book: Day 74-75, 2017

Wednesday, Day 74

  1. Another busy day at work. Nothing new. Inventory is finally scheduled for next month.
  2. Cereal for dinner.

Thursday, Day 75

  1. This quote came up in my Facebook memories this morning: “We are born at the rise of the curtain and we die with its fall, and every night in the presence of our patrons we write our new creation, and every night it is blotted out forever; and of what use is it to say to audience or to critic, “Ah, but you should have seen me last Tuesday?”” -Jules Renard.   I thought it was very fitting since tonight I’m in the semi-finals at the Hey Guys Comedy Contest.
  2. Worked on my set list for tonight.
  3. Didn’t make it through to the finals. I didn’t think that I would. But the owner of the club told me I missed it because of a penalty. You were supposed to do 6 minutes minimum to avoid a penalty.  I was under by 43 seconds. You lose .10 of a point for each second you are under so I lost 4.3 points. Otherwise, I would have made top 4. Oh well. I’m disappointed but also kind of glad it’s over and now I can move on to other things.
