Recently, J and I had a conversation about odd toys from our childhood thanks to them popping up this holiday season in car commercials. One thing that immediately came to mind for me outside of name brand toys was building and painting rockets in grade school. There was one year in middle school where we did this in science class and launched them on the football field. I might have launched one on my own once or twice at home, and that was the end of that. I wondered if they even still sold rocket kits, and sure enough, they do! I found a whole section of them in Hobby Lobby.
My kids used to launch them in the middle of a hay field, which in hindsight might not have been such a good idea!
I launched a few in a wheat field back in the day. I remember losing the rocket and that was pretty much the end of that hobby!
