Harry’s Law

Did anyone else watch Harry’s Law on Monday night starring the unsinkable Kathy Bates?  Loved it!!

Created by David E. Kelley, you knew it had to be good.

It stars Kathy Bates as Harriet Korn, a patent lawyer turned criminal defender who sets up shop in an old shoe store after a man attempting to commit suicide falls on her and then she is also hit by a car driven by a young lawyer played by Nate Corddry.  And all of this happened within the first 10 minutes of the first show.

I’ve never been much of a law drama fan.  Never.  Those and medical dramas just don’t hold my attention.  J watches Law and Order SVU and I sit through it sometimes.  It’s pretty good, but not a show I lose sleep over if I was to miss it.  But I’ll definitely be tuning in again for Harry’s Law.

Kathy wasn’t always the hero in the first show.  She definitely got beat up in court by the prosecuting attorney, and her first case didn’t end the way we probably predicted although it was a happy ending.  And Kathy Bates giving final testimony just moves you, so we’re going to get more of that.  She’s a classic.  And I hope the show lives to see another season.

Thanks NBC for a new and fresh drama and for giving us fans the chance to see good old Kathy every week!
