366 of Me: Day 150
Attack of the rabbits! Here’s what’s left of some of my lilies that weren’t so fortunate this year. These were planted in the ground, but a friend told me to move them into a flower pot to get them up off the ground and the rabbits will leave them alone. I cut the bottom of the pot off and dug it down into the ground a few inches to help the lilies during the winter. Hey, rabbits, we’re not running a salad bar! Lets hope the lilies survive next year!

The new iris bed I worked on last weekend. The bed isn’t too new. We installed it earlier this year but planted it with annuals. I transplanted most of those to hanging baskets to make room for these irises. A lot of of our newer irises did not bloom this year. I read that if they are put into established beds they compete with older plants for nutrients and may not bloom. So, I transplanted a lot of them to their own bed. “Stick to your own kind, one of your own kind…” Lets hope they are happy and will bloom next year!

More lilies…
It’s kind of sad because all we have left are the tiger lilies and the sedums. When they bloom, we’ve reached the end of our growing season and some of the tigers have already opened up.
366 of Me: Day 144
The lilies are blooming! Well…some of them. The rabbits devoured a lot of them. If you look close, you’ll even notice the bottom of these are missing a lot of their leaves. But some of them managed to outgrow the rabbits’ height and bloom.
