  • Finally got some weeding done in the garden.
  • Transplanted my non-blooming irises to their own separate bed for next year.
  • Did some other transplanting projects around the yard to spread the wealth and give some others more room.

  • Editing going strong!  First 15 chapters down.

Lone Writer’s Log Book | Sunday May 13th, 2012

  • Mom liked her Cally Lillies even though I had them delivered Thursday.
  • Had a long list of gardening chores to accomplish today which I decided to cancel since Saturday had already been so busy.  I did spray the drive way to kill the grass and weeds.
  • Spent the rest of the day reading and doing laundry.
  • Took a 3 hour nap.
  • Only got 1K written on FHF.  Oh well…I’ll catch up.
  • New mattress and bedsprings delivered. My feet don’t even touch the ground when I sit on the edge of the bed.

Lone Writer’s Log Book | Saturday May 12th, 2012

  • 12 noon – Lunch at On the Corner Bistro in Moberly
  • Historic house touring and photo taking
  • Visited a scary used bookstore with “something” snoring and growling in the back room and no employee in sight.
  • Snapped photos at the old train station location – the muse was definitely speaking to me here.
  • Double Rainbow in the sky on the drive home.
  • Nice long day with friends, visiting a nice small town. Glad to be home!

Lone Writer’s Log Book | Thursday May 10th, 2012

Lone Writer’s Log Book | Monday May 7th, 2012

Today was catch-up day at work after being out 3 days last week for the work trip to Toledo, so today’s log book entry is a list of the books currently on the nightstand waiting to be read next:

  • The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larsson (reading now)
  • Five O’Clock Angel: Letters of Tennessee Williams to Maria St. Just
  • An Impossible Dream Story by J.V. Petretta
  • The Year of the Gadfly by Jennifer Miller
  • The Grasshopper King by David Stanley
  • Memoirs by Tennessee Williams
  • The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski

Lone Writer’s Log Book | Sunday May 6th, 2012

  • New birdfeeder for the back yard. The hail storm last weekend beat up the old ones pretty bad. They were past their prime anyway.
  • Grocery shopping. My local Shop N Save has been moving everything around since I was in last. We’ve lived here six years and I was just getting the hang of where everything was before!
  • Bought Country Time Lemonade – haven’t had that since I was a kid. Not bad with a splash of orange juice and a shot of tequila.
  • Finally got the banana trees planted.
  • And transplanted some other things that seemed out of place and some that had already bloomed.
  • J’s barbecued chicken again for dinner tonight!

Lone Writer’s Log Book: Saturday May 5th 2012

  • Hungry cats ruined my plans to sleep in.
  • After coffee and catching up online, I spent the morning weeding my flower beds. Finally stopped procrastinating and moved my alliums that did not bloom to a new location for next year.  I’ll move the ones that did bloom later.
  • Mediocre lunch at the CC boat house. The staff’s shirts say “Best Kept Secret in St. Louis.”  It should probably stay that way.
  • Finally found pineapple sage again this year! We bought 10 plants!
  • Materials delivered for new herb garden. Our window sill is now empty and the herbs have a home.
  • Barbecue chicken on the grill and margaritas for dinner!
