The Urban Gardener: Doing A Champagne Waltz

If you read my blog, then you know last September that I planted three yellow and orange irises in the garden as a start to bringing new iris colors into the garden besides the purple and lavender we have. The first of those three bloomed last night despite a bit of a rainstorm.  It’s called Champagne Waltz.

And it is absolutely stunning!  You don’t know how happy I was this morning to rush out and snap its photo, especially with droplets of rain still on the petals.

And it appears that it will probably have a second and maybe a third bloom in the next few days.

Here’s a picture of the kidney shaped flower bed where this iris bloomed.  You can still see the other two from earlier this week still in bloom, along with one Japanese Iris bloom in the very back.
