Last year I decided to try to plant the top of a pineapple.  One of my aunts back home had success with it and now has a big and interesting house plant.  Not that I needed ANOTHER house plant, but I wanted to give it a go anyway.  So, what did I do first, I Googled it!

A Pineapple in the Snow

This website helped a lot and has the directions I followed.  The hardest part was controlling the mold.  The bottom leaves tend to rot while you have the top sitting in water.

It’s been several months and the pineapple top as really spread out and become a nice looking plant in our kitchen window.  Here’s a picture of it with the snow in the background.

Every time I see it, the tune from Cabaret comes to mind, It Couldn’t Please Me More.
