I didn't say we CAN'T have the end of the world. It's a subject Hollywood has covered a dozen times over. What I am saying is that this movie was too much and too over the top. For the potential and storyline it had in the beginning, it should have stopped there. Perhaps I should stick with genre films??? This was totally a genre film, which is why I probably hated it.

So, we ALWAYS have to save the day, and we can't ever have the end of the world? Sure, people might die but in the end the hero will save the world, and the girl, or in more 'adventurous' films the hero might die a tragic yet heroic death?

If that always happened, why the heck would I even go to the movies Knowing (pun intended) what would happen? How boring. Perhaps you should stick to genre films, that way you'll never be disappointed.

I apparently liked "Knowing" more than you! I found it absorbing. It reminded me of the Michael Keaton movie...was it "White Noise"?

I did wonder about a few things. Were the children left on the planet totally alone, or was there some sort of parental authority. Several ships were seen leaving Earth. Did each have a couple of kids? Was it going to be a Caucasian planet, or were other, unseen, races represented?
