Bags on the Run

reusable_productsWe are continuing to “go green.”

J invested in 10 bags for $16.00 from Bags on the Run and they arrived in the mail this week. I’ve been wanting to get some for a while but could never find some that were big enough to please me.

I also didn’t want to invest in store logo bags like Wal~Mart of Walgreens because I think I’d feel odd taking those bags into other stores besides those.  Plus, all of those bags that I’ve seen are too small.

But for just $16.00, we got 10 bags which measure 12.5” x 14” x 8.5” with 20” handles sewn down the sides of the bags and base stiffeners in the bottom.  Just six bags held almost $200 dollars worth of my groceries today.

If you’ve been thinking about “going green” with these types of bags, I highly recommend Bags on the Run.  And I was quite proud for the first time not to have to bring home those horrible plastic bags from the grocery store.

Good Mourning

It seems appropriate that a mourning dove stopped by this morning.  J took the dogs out at 6am this morning only to find that 3 baby starlings were on the deck.  They’d fallen out of the nest that is in the eve of our house behind the gutter.  Still alive, J picked them up and put them in a box.  We can’t get to the nest to put them back in, but we’ll take them to the local wild bird rehab center today when they open.  Other birds stopped by as usual this morning looking for food, and that’s when I snapped these photos.
