QPB and a Book Round Up

Remember Quality Paperback Book Club?  Offering you books for pennies, just pay shipping and agree to buy so many more withint a year’s time.  Kind of like BMG mail order or Columbia House.  Well, I’m still a member.  I still get catalogs in the mail each month even though I fulfilled my commitment a long time ago.  I like taking a look at the 30 page book of books just to see what’s popular.  Here’s a few books I probably wouldn’t have found otherwise.

Stuff White People Like

It’s a great success story!  Blog turned book, and right here on WordPress too.  I prefer the blog though.

Hot Chicks with Douche Bags (Illustrated!)

The title says it all.  YAWN!  There’s hope for me as an author after all.

Napoleon’s Privates: 2,500 Years of History Unzipped

Is it true Hitler had only one testicle? Find out here.

Wham-O Super Book

A historical trip down toy memory lane.  Remember the Slip N Slide?  It’s in here.

The Deviant’s Pocket Guide to the Outlandish Sexual Desires Barely Contained in Your Subconscious

An encyclopedia of sexual fetishes including clowns, shoes, trees, and animals (not all at once)

Obedience

An interesting thriller that’s been on my wishlist for a year now, despite the 2 star rating on Amazon.

The Associate by John Grisham

Grisham is back.  Oh wait, did he ever go away?  Another legal thriller due out later this month, sure to sell millions and spark another movie. Sounds like somebody needed a paycheck.

Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives

As if Guy Fedi’s over-the-top hair and TV show on the Food Network aren’t annoying enough.  Guy can cook.  Apparently, he can write too.

Alas, I turned down all my selections this month (you can do that online these days – no stupid cards to mail in.)

One comment on “QPB and a Book Round Up

  1. I’ve always been tempted to join, but never have. Did you ever sign up for the gay books one? I believe they’re affiliated. Anyway, that fetishes book looks interesting. Any word on Historical Figure, particularly Abe Lincoln in there? Could be good for research/inspiration. And cheap used copies on Amazon are bonus (though, maybe a used copy of this particular book might be a little scary….)
