Here’s a pic of those nutcrackers I was talking about, including the ones we picked up at World Market over the weekend. I’d love to collect the larger ones but they are so damn expensive. That, and a strange war between them and the Old World Santas I already have might break out.

New Numa
It just goes to show we really do only have 15 minutes of fame…or 3 minutes if you are on YouTube.
Fat guy lip syncing to Numa Numa was much funnier the first time. His special effects, pretty backgrounds, and bad choreography make his New Numa a total bore…
Here’s his first video that got all the attention a few years ago…
What’s in that fish tank in the background? Enquiring minds want to know!
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree…
Like many, it’s become quite the tradition for J and I to put up the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving night. This year was no exception. For the past 2 years, it’s been a Santa theme because I’m obsessed with those Mercury glass Santa ornaments they have every year at Tuesday Morning, and I always stock up on them after Christmas. In 2006, I racked up on them after the holidays at several places and had enough to do a whole new tree come 2007.
Along the way, I also started collecting those old world Santas that you can get as tree toppers but seem to have sprouted boots these past few years. So, another tradition is for J and I to buy at least one each year, while my mother also usually buys one for me. I write the year on the bottom of them to keep track. So, here’s this year’s Santa tree and its many guards…
The new guy this year is the one on the far right in this above pic.
One other new addition this year is an angel on the top. You guessed it! There’s usually a Santa there…
And just so she doesn’t feel lonely sitting up there being the only woman in the house, there’s another angel adorning the dining room table as a center piece. Ain’t she purty…
Snow Day
What a perfect way to say good-bye to November and hello to December! St. Louis got about 3 to 4 inches of pretty snow yesterday. I say “pretty snow” because there was no freezing ice involved which covers the street, causes me to fall on the pavement, and causes everyone else to rush to the grocery to buy milk like there’s a shortage or something. Sadly, it’s not enough to prompt me to call into work today either because my car is buried. But still, it was just enough to cover the lawn in a white blanket. Mother Nature looks good in white. You go, Mother Nature…work that snow, baby.
Does this biscuit make my hips look big?
Apparently, squirrels aren’t too worried about carbs, or don’t have to worry. Last week, we put some extra biscuits out for the birds and one of the local squirrels helped himself. He also helped himself to two of my pumpkins that were leftover from Halloween; one of them almost completely disappeared.
