Well, it’s no shocker that Brooke White went home last night on Idol. Despite the tears, it was a nice farewell. At least they didn’t make her sing I’m a Believer. Natasha Bedingfield was awesome. Neil Diamond was boring.

I’d bet money Jason goes home next week. Idol has always kept a girl in the top three when a guy is still destined to win. So, Syesha can say hello to the Top Three although she might get cut and have to watch David and David go head to head. I don’t think little David could carry himself as a powerhouse in the top two though, so it’d be no surprise to see him and Jason go bye bye and David Cook and Syesha take the top two.
And for those of you who came to poor Taylor Hicks’s defense yesterday, here’s my homework…
Daughtry’s debut album reached #1 for two non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200, outsold Idol Taylor Hicks’s debut effort, sold more than 3 million copies and was named the number one selling album of 2007 by billboard. Their album is also the fastest-selling debut rock album in Soundscan history. “It’s Not Over”, was the eighth most played song across all formats on U.S. radio in 2007, and their second single from the album, “Home”, was the tenth most played song in the U.S. of 2007.
Taylor Hicks’s album debuted at the number two spot on the Billboard 200 charts. Despite winning American Idol 2006, Hicks’ post Idol career has had its ups and downs. In early January 2008, a representative for the label confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Hicks is no longer signed to the Arista Records roster. This was confirmed publicly on January 7th of this year. J records, a subsidiary of Sony BMG, also announced that they are releasing Hicks from his recording contract.
Poor poor Taylor. I hope his nightclub in Alabama does well.
