Happy VD! February 14, 2008

After work, I went to the grocery store to use the ATM and buy salads for dinner tonight, and some tea for work (I was running low), and some coffee creamer, oh and those grapes looked good too…I can never go into the grocery store for just 1 thing.

I was immediately greeted by the fragrant smell of roses. The floral department is right there when you walk in the door. There were tons and tons of bouquets, arrangements, single stems, bud vases, and enough mylar balloons to float away on! And of course, the department was full of lost straight men anxious to beat tomorrow’s crowd, and trying to act macho about buying flowers.

I got flowers two years ago, and actually got double because they couldn’t find the place to deliver them on the correct day and had to come back the day after. I usually send J and my Mom flowers, but this year opted for a DVD he’d been wanting and a gift card for Mom. J and I would probably go without getting each other anything if we brought the notion up to each other, but oh well. It was a DVD he wanted. He said I’ll have to wait till tomorrow to get my gift….LOL…probably because he hasn’t bought it yet.

There’s nothing romantic about VD! ;-)
